If creation from nothing is the problem, positing a God who was created from nothing who then created the universe merely defers the problem. It solves nothing. "How could life exist?" and "How could God exist?" are merely two versions of the same impossible-to-answer question. The biblical story isn't remotely convincing from any rational perspective.
