I should mention that Evolution is not limited to atheists. I go to events at a local church where, I believe, everyone believes in Evolution. In fact, one of the most senior people there is also a professor and head of the biological sciences department at my university. His career and status is built upon Evolution being correct, yet he is one of the most religious people I know. God was created from nothing, then he did stuff. If creation from nothing is the problem, positing a God who was created from nothing who then created the universe merely defers the problem. It solves nothing. "How could life exist?" and "How could God exist?" are merely two versions of the same impossible-to-answer question. The biblical story isn't remotely convincing from any rational perspective.
